THE FAUST ACT is over. Welcome to FANDEMONIUM.
The second arc of THE WICKED + THE DIVINE begins in its traditional manner (i.e. a ludicrous pun.) We'd say something like “nothing will ever be the same again” but if you think about it, you can say that about literally everything, ever. Er...also some comic story. Probably.
While walking near her parents' house, Laura encounters two people wearing T-shirts that read "Lucifer died for our sins". They briefly talk to her and ask if she's planning on going to Ragnarock. Reflecting on the slogan causes her to recall Lucifer's death, and vomit.
Human Trash, 28 February 2014Edit
Ever since Lucifer's death, Laura has been depressed and unable to reproduce the miracle she performed lighting Lucifer's cigarette. She is unable to explain her frustration and confusion to her mother, although she is seeing a therapist. She has also become incredibly popular on social media, despite posting nothing for weeks.
Unexpectedly, she receives a phone call asking her to meet someone at Lucifer's grave. She arrives to meet the god Inanna, who hugs her and says he remembers her from Ragnarock 2013, recalling how Laura argued with a panelist who said that the current generation didn't deserve a recurrence. Inanna offers to share inside information with Laura; he explains that he used a miracle to perform divination on the gunmen who attacked Lucifer, and has identified them as Pantheon fans.
On her way home, Laura posts a message to social media, saying that she is willing to speak at cons and gigs. She quickly receives hundreds of responses.
The issue ends with a title card: "Abandon All Hope", 1 March 2014.
